The holiday summer reading slump or slide is real. The home and school partnership can arrest this holiday slump!

Our library is our schools 'hub' for developing life long learners:
- to read
- to explore
- to inquire
- to imagine
- to create
Our purposes:
- We create a stimulating, accessible learning
environment in which students develop an enthusiasm for information and
an enjoyment of reading.
- We provide centralised access to resources that
support the school’s teaching and learning programmes and student’s
recreational reading interests.
- We broaden students experiences, widen their
understanding of the diversity of cultures, and increase their
knowledge of the world around them, thus enhancing their self identity.
- We provide a variety of opportunities for students to
undertake inquiry learning and develop information literacy skills,
using a wide range of resources and information technologies.
We use the:
Big6 (senior students) and Super3
(junior students) as the research models to support the teaching
and learning of cross-curricula information literacy skills and
dispositions. |

websites. The student is still doing a full Google search but the
results displayed are more educationally relevant. To find
results related to New Zealand simply add “zealand” to the search
string.

Dictionary of New Zealand Biography
This website contains over 3,000 biographies of New Zealanders who have
'made their mark' on this country. It does not include people who are
alive. So you will not find people like Helen Clark or Sean
Fitzpatrick, but you will find people like George Nepia or Michael
Joseph Savage.
